Complexes of Zr(IV) and Cd(ll) substituted 2-phenyl cinchoninic acid have been developed.
The synthesis is based on the reaction of 6H20 and 4H20 with the cinchophen derivatives in absolute ethanol.
The resulting complexes are assigned on the basis of elemental analysis, molar conductance values and infrared spectral data.
Complexes of the type (H20)3] (N03)4 and (H20)2] (N03)2 (where L is a substituted cinchophen ligands) have been proposed.
The ligands in these complexes behave as monodentate.
