Abstract EN

Following a recent procedure, a series of dicarbonylcyclopentadienyliron S- bonded thiocarboxylates were prepared and studied.

The effect of different substitu- tion patterns, in the cyclopentadienyl ring and in the thiocarboxylate group with ali- phatic and aromatic substrates, on the electrochemical behaviour is analyzed and dis- cussed.

The cyclic voltammetric measurements were performed in acetonitrile and the origins of anodic oxidation and cathodic reduction peaks are assigned to specific functional groups and molecular sites.

Electro oxidation is found to take place at the iron and the cyclopentadienyl ring, while reduction occurs at the aromatic- thiocarboxylate and the cyclopentadienly ring.
