English Abstract
A novel method for professional student outcomes (performance-type outcomes or soft skills) assessment in a core course, “Seminars in Electrical Engineering” is presented.
The method is based upon components of classroom group activities, research on modern electrical engineering topics by individual students, classroom presentations of the chosen research topics, final presentations, and final Technical report writing.
The assessment activities include the faculty evaluation and peer evaluation that measures professional student outcomes of Team work, Life-Long Learning, and Communication skills including; oral communication, communication in writing, and presentation skills.
The evaluation is performed and analysis results are discussed with the students and faculty for feedback purposes to close the loop for quality assurance and continuous improvement of professional student outcomes crucial for engineers to be successful in their profession.
