Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying the level of environmental ethics among the secondary school science teachers in irbid directorate, and the extent to which to level of these ethics were affected by their gender, specialization, qualification and their experience.

For this purpose a scale of environmental ethics consisted of 20 items of four alternative multiple choices developed by Al-Saggaf was used.

The scale items were distributed into three dimensions : the cooperation with the nonliving components, the cooperation with the living components, and the cooperation between the human being in the field of environmental issues.

The scale was applied on the sample of the study which consisted of 68 science teachers (40 males, 38 females).

The collected data was interred into the computer and analyzed using the SPSS program.

The study yielded the following major results : -The level of environmental ethics among the study sample was low.

-The level of environmental ethics of the subjects were unaffected by their gender, experience, Qualification, and academic specialization.

Finally, in the light of the study results, a number of related recommendations were suggested.
