An efficient protocol has been developed for the preparation of a library of benzoxazole, benzimidazole, and benzothiazole derivatives from reactions of acyl chlorides with o-substituted aminoaromatics in the presence of catalytic amount of silica-supported sodium hydrogen sulphate under solvent-free conditions.
Simple workup procedure, high yield, easy availability, reusability, and use of ecofriendly catalyst are some of the striking features of the present protocol.
