Abstract EN
A technique for noncontact optical measurement of in-plane displacement based on correlation analysis is presented.
This approach can be used to identify the position of a marker before and after deformation of a specimen or plane test object.
Some mechanical parameters of materials and strains can be calculated using information from several markers’ displacement.
The method is simpler than other optical techniques in experimental processing and can be efficiently used to measure large deformations.
Two applications of this method are illustrated.
One application of this method is to test the mechanical behavior of polymer film material.
Another application of this method is to measure the displacement field in a strata movement simulation experiment.
