It is presented the FT-Raman spectroscopic investigation of the lead tartrate dihydrate and lead iodide dihydrate.The difference in the spectroscopic behavior of these salts were found which can be attributed to a different geometry of the tartrate and iodide ions.
The structural differences between the coordination environments of lead atoms are discussed in connection with Raman frequencies.
The compounds have been synthesized using sodium metasilicate gel at ordinary temperature and pressure.
