As an important interference source of railway vibration, track irregularity is studied in this paper.
It is presented that irregularities in the vertical profile and alignment can be modeled as a Gaussian random process.
The power spectral density (PSD) of the irregularity is calculated and discussed.
By analyzing the model, level-crossing properties as well as peak statistics are studied and compared with the observed data.
