Abstract EN

A new method for the synthesis of aldol products is described.

The reaction of aromatic and heteroaromatic aldehydes with 1-(thiophen-2-yl)ethanone in the presence of ruthenium chloride hydrate combined with ligand provided the related aldol adducts, in a short time at room temperature in good yields (77–84%).
