High resolution direction-of-arrival estimation using genetic algorithm

Abstract EN

This paper presents an application of a performance analysis of a genetic algorithm GA developed for extraction of the directions of arrival DOA of several signals impinging on uniform linear arrays.

The first part of this paper describes the maximum likelihood ML technique of direction of arrival estimation with genetic algorithm.

The second part presents some illustrative simulation cases of ML-DOA estimation by using GA.

Results are statistically analyzed in order to conclude from it the algorithm's accuracy and reliability.
