Abstract EN

It is noticeable that the Palestinian Dialect contains a number of phonetic phenomena that do not exist in standard Arabic.

The study presented a thesis, which essentially claims that such phenomena could be related to the old Arabic dialects.

Therefore, the study described these phenomena and their distribution in the Palestinian society and attempted to identify their historical origins.

Furthermore, the study asserted two things, one is the close relationship between this dialect and old Arabic dialects which were carried to Palestinian by the Arab tribes which settled in Palestine at the beginning of the Islamic conquests.

The other thing is that it is very likely that the Aramic influence could have played an important role in producing some of the phenomena in the dialect because this language continued in Palestine for many centuries.
