English Abstract

In this research, we use the Multicast Ad hoc On_demand Vector ( MAODV ) routing protocol by Windows XP operating system to send and receive data through wireless networks, to study and analyze the results produced by using this Protocol to send and receive different types of files (text, image, audio, and video), and discover the factors that affect the process of transmission to reach the best quality of data and higher efficiency in terms of speed and time through the application of this Protocol.

The study and analysis of results show that the AODV protocol used by the Windows XP operating system gives better results in sending and receiving data than the default protocol in terms of speed and time.

The use of this type of protocol to send and receive files of type (text, image and audio) is much better than to use it to send and receive video files.

This is because the size of these types of files is very small compared with the size of video files.

The increase of the size of the file sender leads to an increase in the difference in time between using the AODV protocol and using the default protocol of windows XP .The rate difference between using AODV protocol and using the default protocol of windows XP of file size 506 Mb equals about 3 minutes.
