الغرض من البحث : تحديد مستو ى معامل النمو شبة الأنسولين و الإنترلوكين 6 في النساء المصابات بوهن العظام بعد سن اليأس لإيجاد علاقة بينهم و بين المظاهر الإكلينيكية و الإشعاعية للمرض.
الطريقة : اشتمل البحث على 20 سيدة يعانين من وهن العظام ما بعد سن اليأس و أجريت لهم الاختبارات الإكلينيكية و المعملية و شملت مستوى الكالسيوم والفوسفات والفوسفاتيز القلوي و مستوى هرمون الأستروجين و الكالسينات العظمية و إنترلوكين 6 و معامل النمو شبة الأنسولين و كذلك تحديد كثافة العظام عن طريق الديكسا.
النتائج : وجد ارتفاع ذو دلالة إحصائية عن المجموعة الضابطة لكل من الأوستيوكالسين و الإنترلوكين 6 و انخفاض في مستو ى الأستروجين و معامل النمو شبة الأنسولين.
و قد وجد ارتباط ذو دلالة إحصائية عن كثافة العظام ومستوى الأوستيوكالسين و الاستراديول و معامل النمو شبة الأنسولين و لكن لم نجد ارتباط ذو دلالة إحصائية بين كثافة العظام و الإنترلوكين 6.
الاستنتاج : هذه الدراسة توصي بأن القصور في بناء العظام و الزيادة في هدمه التي تحدث في النساء بعد سن اليأس قد تكون جزئيا بسبب نقص معامل النمو شبة الأنسولين و كذلك للزيادة في إنتاج الإنترلوكين 6 في العظام عند هؤلاء النساء.
Abstract EN
Objective: Assessment of IGF-1, IL-6 levels in post-menopausal osteoporosis (OP) to find out their relation to the clinical and radiological presentation of the patients.
Methods: Twenty primary osteoporotic post-menopausal women were subjected to: 1) Clinical examination.
2) Laboratory investigations in the form of serum Ca, P, alkaline phosphatase, estradiol, osteocalcin, IL-6, IGF-1.
3) Radiological assessment in the form of plain X-rays and Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA).
Results: Serum osteocalcin and IL-6 were significantly elevated while IGF-1 was significantly decreased than controls (4±1.2ng/ml, 39.3±21.4 pg/ml and 61.9±31 ng/ml respectively).
Bone mass density significantly correlated with osteocalcin, estradiol and IGF-1 but not with IL6.
Conclusion: This study suggested that the impaired bone formation and elevated bone resorption in post-menopausal women may be due to in part to the reduced IGF-1 and an over production of IL-6 in the bone of those women.
