English Abstract

Named Entity Recognition is one of the most important tasks in Information retrieval system, especially when it is integrated with other Natural Language process systems.

Our research focuses on Arabic Name Entity Recognition using Base Rules by extracting the Entity Names from annotated set of sentences.

The language features and morphological structures are considered to be critical for the success of the Name Entity identification.

Our system uses these features for building the rules that will be used for deciding whether a candidate Name Entity is to be selected or not.

The proposed system creates list of words and patterns then generates the rules.

And we use the algorithm to stem the words and analyze the result of the stemming.

The system is evaluated by comparing it to other existing systems.

The results show that our system can be used to improve the results of other approaches and available systems.

The results show that our approach can be considered as a component that can be integrated with other systems to improve their results
