English Abstract
The necessity to improve consumption attitude in both developed and developing countries led to a more sustainable way of thinking to conserve the environmental resources.
Developing countries need for such improvements is in a way more pressing due to the limitations in resources and know-how than with developed countries.
Hence, implementing environmental management tools is a pressing issue in Jordan.
Since the aviation sector is one of the most important sectors in Jordan that can directly affect the Jordanian economy and since air transport service entails high consumption of environmental resources and results in various types of waste, it was selected as the focus of this research.
Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) is Jordan's largest airport which was built in 1983.
The airport had been unable to meet the sustained growth in air traffic because of capacity constraints, a fact that revealed the need to rehabilitate and expand the airport.
This study used Cleaner Production (CP) to find the potentials of improvement in the new terminal building at (QAIA).
CP methodology started with a pre-assessment phase in which the main focus of the study was determined in order to identify opportunities of cleaner production to reduce production costs, enhance environment, and improve ground services at the terminal building, ending with an assessment phase in which options were proposed and evaluated With the identi
