Abstract EN

We report a case of a 34 year-old woman, 13 weeks gestation, who presented to the Emergency Room at our hospital with acute abdominal pain.

She was found to have haemoperitoneum clinically.

At laparotomy the uterus was found to have ruptured at the site of her previous caesarean section.

She had total hysterectomy and made an uneventful recovery.

The various causes of rupture of the uterus are reviewed.
