Abstract EN
Schistosomiasis, caused by flukes of any species of the genus Schistosoma, is a common parasitic infestation in many regions of the world.
Bilharzioma is a tumour-like mass of fibrous and inflammatory tissue, usually containing many eggs, found on the serosal surface of the large bowel, the mesentry, and on the retro-peritoneum.
It is of variable size, firm, whitish and mobile.
