The study examines an important artistic aspect of Hawi’s poetic experience, representing duality of death and rebirth.

This is the nucleus of his poetic vision, which constitutes a common denominator for his experiences.

This duality has its own manifestations and repercussions and multiple spectra.

These are highly interrelate, and they merge together to express the poet’s vision of his existential anxiety, or the existential quality of the contemporary man.

In his desire to overcome the current Arab situation, one has to wait indefinitely to get to the path of renaissance and life.

These manifestations are represented in the materialistic Western civilization and the spirituality of the East.

The fragmented Arab situation which hovers between life and death, and its relation to language, has its impact on the dramatic touch of his poetry.
