Abstract EN

This study aims to offer a critique for a number of the Reasons for the descent of the holy Quran within timescale, that it is the time of descent of the makki and madani.

The study also shows the causes for contradiction between reason and time of descent and the requirements for such contradiction.

Hence, the researcher adopted the critical and inductive approach through the course of this study granting the possibility of criticising the reasons of descent from the makki and madani perspectives.

In doing so, the researcher shows the following : the weakness of the narration of the descent reason, the choosing between veritable narrations, the narrator's illusion in explicitly expressing the recital in the reason of descent, the listing of the reason for descent in the narration , invalidating the claims concerning naskh ; and finally showing interruption in sanad.

The researcher recommends appling such a critical approach to the reason of Hadith narration in order to assimilate it with the reason of descent.
