Abstract EN

The experiment was carried out under laboratory conditions to estimate the antifungal activity of anise (Pimpinella anisum) seeds extracts (alcoholic, water and volatile oil) at different concentrations against pathogenic fungus Fusarium oxysporum, which has been reported for the first time in this plant.

The identification was based on the morphological and microscopic features.

The pathogenicity and the inhibitory effect of F.

solani exudates on anise seeds were also examined, both of them caused completely inhibition to the germination of anise seeds.

Alcoholic and water extracts which were prepared at concentrations of 0, 2, 4, 6 mg / ml were added to PDA medium for antifungal activity tests against the fungal growth.

All concentrations of alcoholic and water extracts caused substantial reduction on fungal growth.

The preliminary results of this experiment revealed that the anise oil was caused hole and scratching to the plastic peteri-dishes, for that reason these dishes were replaced with glass one.

In spite of the rare growth of Rhizoctonia solani and about 50 % reduction of Alternaria solani and F.

solani at 25 μl, but the growth of these fungi were completely inhibited at 50 and 75 μl, in which all three fungi were failed to produce mycelium in PDA medium.
