تقوم هذه الرسالة على دراسة الغموض في صحيفة "الجوردان تايمز".
و قد قسمت الدراسة إلى خمسة فصول.
يتضمن الفصل الأول المقدمة و التي تشمل بيان المشكلة، الأسئلة و الفرضيات، و الهدف من الدراسة و أهميتها، و الخطة، و استعراض للأدبيات المتعلقة بالموضوع.
و يتناول الفصل الثاني مفهوم الغموض و أنواعه في مدارس لغوية مختلفة، و أنواع الغموض في كتاب امبسن "سبعة أنواع للغموض"، و المصطلحات ذات الصلة و وظيفة الغموض.
أما الفصل الثالث فيتناول لغة الصحافة، و يتحدث عن الغموض في الصحف و عناوينها، و خصائص الأسلوب الصحفي، و الأسباب وراء الغموض.
و يأخذ الفصل الرابع صحيفة الجوردان تايمز بوصفها دراسة حالة، حيث تم تحليل 471 مثال على الغموض رتبت في أربعة جداول وفقا لأنواع الغموض، حيث قسم اثنان من الجداول أمثلة على أنواع الغموض في العناوين، و الاثنان الآخران أمثلة على أنواع من الغموض في نصوص المقالات.
و تنتهي الدراسة بالفصل الخامس، و الذي يتضمن الاستنتاجات و التوصيات.
English Abstract
This study attempts to investigate ambiguity in The Jordan Times.
It is divided into five chapters.
Chapter one, which is the introduction, includes the statement of the problem, questions and the hypotheses, aims of the study, the significance, and the review of related literature.
The second chapter, which deals with the concept and the types of ambiguity, is divided into four subtitles, definition of ambiguity and related terms, function of ambiguity, types of ambiguity in different linguistic schools, and the types of ambiguity according to Empson.
Chapter Three deals with the language of journalism; it talks about ambiguity in newspaper headlines, the characteristics of journalistic style, and the reasons behind ambiguity.
Chapter Four takes The Jordan Times newspaper as a case study.
The researcher analyzed 471 examples of ambiguity and arranged them in four tables according to the types of ambiguity.
Two of the tables deal with examples on the types that were found in the headlines, and the other two deal with examples on the types of ambiguity in the articles.
The study ends with Chapter five, which includes the conclusions and recommendations.
