English Abstract

Dithieno[3,2-b:2',3'-d]thiophene – 2-cyanoacrylic acid 15, 5,5' –bis(dicyanoacrylic) – 2,2'-bithiophene 20, 5 – piperidyl – 2-thiophene cyanoacrylic acid 19,were prepared from there corresponding aldehydes via Knoevenagel these new dyes were characterized by 1H-NMR,13C-NMR,UV-vis/emission, elemental analysis,HRMS.

Dye sensitizer solar cell were fabricated using dye 15, dye 19, and dye 20, as sensitizer, the electrical parameters for dye 15 the current short circuit density (Jsc) of 0,17mA/cm2, open circuit voltage (Voc) of 0.6V ,fill factor 26%, yielding a power conversion efficiency (η) of 0,027%, for dye 19 the current short circuit density (Jsc) of 0,087mA/cm2, open circuit voltage (Voc) of 0.6V ,fill factor 36%, yielding a power conversion efficiency (η) of 0,0188%, and dye 20 the current short circuit density (Jsc) of 0,15mA/cm2, open circuit voltage (Voc) of 0.6V,fill factor 32%, yielding a power conversion efficiency (η) of 0,03%.

This attributed to different chemical structure of dyes.
