Abstract AR
Abstract EN
Objective : correlation of the electrical activity of neck muscles namely the trapezii and sternocleidomastoids at optimal contraction during movement and with maximal contraction.
Also, knowing the relationship between the activity of those muscles during maximal performance and maximal muscular strength.
Methodology : the study was conducted on ( ) healthy males aged 30-50 years.
The correlation and causal comparison was used.
The subjects were selected according to the stratified intended method.
Medical scale erstameter densitometer was used for muscle strength.
The Nero back apparatus MEB-534K with 2 channels was used to measure the electrical activity for the working muscles in neck movements.
Results : there were statistically significant differences at the level of 0.01 in the electrical activity of both trapezii and sternocleidomastoids between performance and maximal performance in neck flexion, extension and right and left rotation in favor of maximal performance.
Also, there were statistically significant correlations between maximal electrical activity and maximal working muscle strength in flexion, extension and right and left neck rotation at the level of 0.01.
