English Abstract
The airline sector is very unique and some governments consider a national airline to be an important aspect for representing the country.
Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore the airline sector and provide some information about the airline companies in Jordan to enhance the reader knowledge about this industry.
The study also explained the concepts of lease financing, which plays a critical role in the airline industry, and showed the forms of financing, its cost and the risk attached to it.
The collected information from the study tool, which was distributed to executive managers in the airline companies, explained the role of lease financing and its ability to reduce the risk and improve the airline flexibility and efficiency.
The study results clearly show that the lease financing has a positive impact on the airline flexibility and efficiency.
In addition, the lease financing has the ability to reduce the airline risk and is considered better than purchasing since the capital can be invested in other alternatives.
The study recommended that the banking and financial institutions take on a more active role, through professional and experienced staff who can provide a professional advice to airline companies to use this type of financing, especially since it is considered as collateral type of financing.
