Obesity is the most common nutritional disorder in the developed countries.

It has long been observed that obesity is a major risk factor for several chronic diseases.

The aim of this study was to assess the nutritional status of obese male and female students of university suffering from obesity.

The study group of present work consisted of 30 male and 30 female students (19-24years of age from King Abdul Azize University in Jeddah), where screened and information on height (m), weight (kg) and the Body Mass Index (BMI) was calculated and the data was used to group the males and females as obese (BMI?30).

Calculation of nutrients was carried out using computerized data bank of food (of consumed nutrients)as percent of RDA (1989).

The results reveled that intake of total calories was higher than RDA (138%) for males and (157.7%) for females group, total protein intakes was (306% of RDA and 310.6% of RDA) for males and females group respectively.

Cholesterol intake was also higher than RDA (201.8%) for males group and (160.4%) for females group of RDA.
