A totally automated microcontroller-based energy consumption meter is designed and implemented.
It monitors and controls the energy consumption.
The system is equipped with a credit card reading utility and a relay to automatically manage the electricity supply to the consumers.
Unlike the existing systems, the new system does not require the utility company to monitor, bill, and energize or deenergize the power line.
