Abstract EN

The application of the Clean Air Act in the USA has led refiners to incorporate larger amounts of alkylate in their gasoline pool.

These alkylates are produced by two main processes characterized by the use of highly concentrated acids (HF or H2SC4).

Important research work is currently being carried out in order to develop alternative routes to HF and H2S04 based on heterogeneous processes.
