Abstract EN
For the production of strawberry mother plants, six cultivars were cultivated in a multispan in Bahteem region, Qualyubia Governorate during 1998 and 1999 summer seasons.
Whitefly nymphs and active stages of mites were evaluated.
The six cultivars differed significantly in whitefly and mite numbers, showing higher peaks of 16.93 and 11.38 whitefly nymphs/leaflet during August 1998 and 1999 on Chandler and Selvae, respectively.
Higher mite peaks of 9.50 and 13.68 moving stages/leaflet were recorded during July 1998 and August 1999 on Selvae and Chandler, respectively.
Correlation between the two pests were highly positive but higher whitefly nymph numbers throughout 1998 season in opposite to lower mite numbers and vice versa during 1999 season in Chandler, Charlesbad and Camerosa cultivars.
