Thermodynamic parameters for the ionization of the proton attached to the ring nitrogen in proflavine were obtained from thermochromie and s^ctrophotometric measurements.

Data were collected in methanol-water and 1, 4-dioxane-water over the composition range 0-60% (w/w) cosolvent at temperatures in the range 2-550C.

The dependence of the ionization parameters on solvent and temperature is discussed
