Uranium in ph©sphatic rocks ؛s separated by adsorption on a strongly basic anion-exchange resin or extracted by tri-«-octylphosphine oxide.

The extraction method is simpler and more applicable than the an؛on-exchange method.

The separated uranium is determined s^ctrophotometrically by means of 2-(5-bromo-3^rid^™)-5-diethylaminophenol.

Samples from two different places which have phosphatic beds ^ere investigated.

The uranium contents of those samples have been successfully determined and found to correlate with other chemical constituents.
