Abstract EN

In this paper the kinematic synthesis of a four bar linkage has been used together with an optimization method to minimize the steering error of an Aekermann steering linkage.

A method which is based on the kinematic synthesis of a four bar linkage and which is used for the purpose of producing data sheets has been described.

Finally, a nonlinear optimization method has been used to minimize the sum of the squares of the steering errors for various steering angles.

Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the usefulness of the method proposed for the design of steering linkages.
