Abstract EN

Objectives : To survey patient satisfaction with the ser-vices provided by specialized diabetic clinics in ministry of health's primary health care centers in Doha-Qatar.

Methods : A random sample of so patients attending 4 primary health care centers was surveyed using a self-ad-ministered questionnaire.

The survey consists oftwo types of questions, positively biased and negative(}' biased ques-tions.

Results : 1) 80 questionnaires were analyzed giving a response rate of 95 %.

7 % of participants were male and 21.

3 % were female.

3) Male patients were generally more satisfied than female patients, 4 questions including (Questions 2, 4,14 & 15) out ofl4positive statements scored higher agreement by male and only 3 questions (Questions 5, & 13) scored higher agreement by female patients, this is in relation to patient statements (Table 1).

4) For the negative statements, malepatients also expressed higher satisfaction than female as they were less agreeable with the negative statements i.e.

three out of 4 negative state-ments (Questions 8, 17 & 18) compared to one statement for female patient (Question 7).

Conclusion : Most of the respondents were satisfied with the services provided in diabetic clinics in primary health care setting.

Typically they wanted ])*ore time to be spent with the doctor
