Abstract EN

The Phytochemical properties of Steam constituents of volatile oil of Eucalyptus camaldulensis was indicated by the measuring of refractive index, specific gravity, optical rotation, iodine number, acid value, ester value, saponification value, ketone value and aldehyde value were determined.

Thin layer chromatography (TLC) and gas liquid chromatographical (GLC) analysis was indicated the presence of terpineol, citronellal and phellandrene.

The inhibitory action of the oil against germination and seedling using : wheat, sorghum, cowpea and cotton were determined.

The result was exhibited inhibitory action of fraction (6) (major constituent is terpineol) and fraction (4) (major constituents are terpineol and phellandrene) were studied against germination and seedling growth against the tested crops starting from lowest concentration (0.
