The effect of two different binders natural gum acacia and synthetic polyvinyl pyrroldone on the physieo-chemical of paracetamol tablets

The present study included comparative investigation to differentiate between tow kind of binders Poly Vinyl Pyrrodone (P.

V.

P.) and Gum Acacia and their effectiveness on physiochemical properties of the paracetamol tablets.

Paracetamol tablets were prepared using 3% of each hinder (gum and p.v.p) by wet granulation method.

The quality control tests were performed, and the formulated tablets gave promising results.

Tablets quality control tests complied with the requirements stated in the official pharmacopeias particularly USP, BP these tests are: uniformity of weight, uniformity of drug content, tablet disintegration lime, tablet hardness and friability.

The tablets prepared with P.

V.

P showed helter results concerning the disintegration and content uniformity, while, those with gum acacia were superior in weight variation, hardness and friability.
