-Objectives Advanced renal failure (CRF) is referred to as end stage renal disease (ESRD).

Patients undergoing chronic haemodialysis treatment represent a high risk group for thromboembolic complications.

The aim of this study is to measure PT, APPT, and the concentration of D-dimer of end stage renal failure post haemodialysis and to determine the effect of duration of dialysis on PT, APTT and D-dimer concentration.

Methods 50 samples from patients with end stage renal failure and 25 as control group were collected.

PT and APTT were measured using automated coagulometer and D-dimer was measured by NycoCard D-dimer single test.

Results The mean of PT was 16.

1 sec compared to control group (12.

1sec).

The mean of APTT was 73.

8 sec while in the control group was 33.

6 sec.

The mean value of D-dimer concentration was 2.

26mg / L compared to 1.

52 mg / L in the control group.

According to the duration of dialysis PT in less than 4 years was 13.

9 seconds and was 14.

4 sec in more than 8 years.

APTT was found to be 62.

1 sec in < 4 years to 74.

9 sec and became 87.

5 sec in more than 8 years of dialysis and D-dimer was 1.

6 mg / L in < 4 years and 2.

6 mg / L in more than 8 years.

Conclusion The duration of hemodialysis finding elevated the coagulation parameters with increased duration of dialysis.

Treatment of anemia by rhEPO and iron supplement showed no effect in coagulation parameters
