Linguistically, syndesis means tendency; Alkalileel, the famous Arab linguist, says, "I syndesize something means to make it tend or bend towards something else".
Terminologically, it means something followed that refers to the meaning of what has preceded it; both are parted by one of the ten Arabic syndesizing tools.
