This thesis analyzes the Moroccan-U.S.

relations in light of the future free trade agreement.

I focus on the opportunities and.

challenges of such agreement for Morocco.

This thesis argues that an American-Moroccan free trade agreement may have a positive impact on the Moroccan economy, provided that Morocco implements the necessary reforms to cope with the challenges presented by this agreement.

These reforms should focus on foreign direct investment, public finance, competitiveness of the Moroccan companies, and human capital.

Therefore, the Morocco-United States free trade agreement stands as a mechanism to facilitate the integration of Morocco in the global economy.
