English Abstract
his dissertation aims to provide a valid analysis of why the US decided to ;ervene militarily in Iraq in March 2003.
To this end, it concentrates on the decision-iking process conducive to the US decision to invade Iraq, using an analytical imework developed by Janns and Mann and subsequently adopted by Herek.
Herek pothesizes that decision-making processes tend to be suboptimal in crisis conditions d that the quality of outcome decisions is related to the quality of the decision-making Dcesses in crisis conditions.
This dissertation argues that such conditions were provided the September 11 attacks regarding the US decision to invade Iraq.
The quality of the cision was affected by the September 11 crisis.
Therefore, the suboptimal quality of the cision-making processes conducive to the US Iraq war decision stands out as Dcedural explanatory variable for the US military intervention in Iraq.
