Abstract EN

This study handled the Moroccan Popular Resistance against the Existence of the Crusaders in Jerusalem Kingdom till the liberation of Jerusalem in 583 A.H/1187.A.D, The study consists of Three Parts: The first part discussed the Palestinian popular resistance as a reaction against the Crusader invasion of Palestine in general and Jerusalem in particular because of its holiness and the status and respect that Jerusalem occupies in the hearts of Muslims in the whole world.

This part talked about the popular resistance with all its means and methods including: military groups, civil mutiny and economic boycott.

The second part talked about the Moroccan popular resistance against the Crusaders at individual and group levels, and the Moroccan participation in the strife and coherence with the Muslim people through participation as volunteers in the Islamic campaigns against the invaders whether who were coming for the pilgrimage or finalizing its religious duties, as the strife brings to their rites of pilgrimage many rewards and merits, and this is a pillar which Islam has affixed as a basic approach and a duty upon all Muslims .

The third part handled models of the literature of resistance of the Moroccans in two fields.

The first is the literature of virtues which talked in more details about the importance of Jerusalem in the religious aspects and the second with the Poetry as the poets contacted the people and raised up the efforts to liberate Jerusalem and defend it.

The fourth part discussed the impact of the active resistance at the military level, and the Moroccan participation in many battles and their residence in Jerusalem at the Moroccan Quarter to defend it and protect its holy places.
