English Abstract
This study examines the relationship between the democratization process and the adoption of Islamic rules and values.
In other words, the research for this thesis investigates the impact of Political Islam in the process of democracy in Muslim societies.
The compatibility and the incompatibility between Islam and democracy are found in different academic sources, including books, databases of different international universities, electronic journals and academic articles adding to them the articles published and discussed in international conferences by a number of international organizations.
Further, this thesis is based on a survey data collected from the public opinion of the city of Casablanca in Morocco.
The analysis examines the process of democracy in Casablanca as being a city in a Muslim country.
It comes up with the understanding that Islam is not an obstacle against democracy
