English Abstract
The method followed in this study relies on the investigation of the behavior of member states, particularly the UK and France, within the EU to trace whether these behaviors have any correlations to the cultural differences of the EU members.
In carrying out this task, I relied mainly on speeches, official documents, and interviews with the EU officials concerning their position in and relationship to the EU.
The present study concludes that cultural diversity affects decision making and is responsible for the divergent views between EU members.
Also, since culture partly influences economy and politics and since the EU, in all its directions, is heading towards more diversity, then this diversity should be given due account in the EU’s future agendas, if it is to continue and prosper as a stable democratic institution.
