English Abstract
This project deals with some environmental problems engendered by the cement factory in Meknes.
The pollution that this factory contributes to, jeopardizes the public health in Quartier Wislane.
It also has very negative effects on vegetation in this area, and has actually lead to the withering of a lot of trees.
The continual emissions of the cement factory has caused the victimization of many people, and these have had several respiratory problems.
However, and as inferred from the different interviews conducted with both the inhabitants of Quartier Wislane and the employees of the cement factory, the level of awareness of the various health risks that the factory constitutes is very low.
In addition, the people’s properties are damaged by the factory emissions.
The wastewater which is discharged onto the nearby farms, has rendered the lands almost completely barren.
Besides, the houses are usually dusty and most of them have changed from a white colour to brownish.
Despite all these environmental problems caused by the cement factory, people do not think that the kind of illnesses they often have, might be associated with the cement dust or the gaseous emissions of the cement factory.
This lack of awareness of the health risks that these people are surrounded by results from the need for awareness campaigns.
Only a thing like this c or a future environmental education can make the people conscious of the existence of risks that i threaten their health and their environment.
