English Abstract

Human Rights Watch is a non-governmental organization dedicated to protect human rights worldwide.

Human Rights watch tries to further the respect of human rights through outreach, fund-raising, and advocacy projects at the national and international levels.

However, Human Rights Watch is faced with various challenges such as state sovereignty and cross-cultural validity that leads one to question its legitimacy.

In this report, I will try to analyse Human Rights Watch’s work at the national level through my experience at the organization, and its work at the international level, taking Kosovo as a case study.

I will talk about the various challenges it faces in conducting its work, and whether it is effective in furthering the respect of human rights at the national and international levels.
