Six triterpenoids of lupane-type structure were isolated from the low-polar fraction of ethyl acetate extract of dry resin of dragon’s blood tree Dracaena cinnabari, endemic to Socotra Island, Yemen, one of which (2) is reported here for the first time in nature.
The structures of isolated compounds were identified by different spectroscopic methods such as GC-MS, IR and NMR.
