An efficient approach is reported for the synthesis of 2H-indazolo[2,1-b]phthalazinetriones using CuO-ZnO nanocatalyst in water.

CuO-ZnO nanocatalyst was prepared by a coprecipitation method and characterized by XRD, BET surface area, SEM, TEM and EDS analysis.

The nanocatalyst can be reused without loss of activity even after 4 runs of recycling.
