English Abstract

This research analyzes how Abdessalam Yassin and A1 Adi Wal Ihssan, the most important Islamist group of Morocco, view the West.

First of all, it aims at determining if the Islamists’ anti-Western feeling is due to political reasons, which encompass economic and social problems, or ideological reasons, which derive from religious beliefs.

Second, it will help clarify whether this anti-Western feeling is a diverse or monolithic phenomenon among the different Islamist groups using A1 Adi Wal Ihsssan as a case study.

For this purpose, it analyzes various publications and interviews with A1 Adi Wal Ihssan.

It also studies major works on this Islamist movement.

First, it analyzes A1 Adi Wal Ihssan’s view on Western democracy.

Then, it examines how Abdessalam Yassm regards Western economic systems.

Finally, it studies major political problems that oppose this association to the West.
