Abstract EN

Objective: To describe a case of chronic lymphocytic leukemia relapses presenting as bilateral acute otitis media with left facial paralysis.

Methods: Case report and review of the literature.

Introduction: Chronic lymphocytic leukemia is the most common leukemia in adults predominantly the elderly.

Despite advances in treatment still chronic Lymphocytic leukemia is an incurable disease; relapse of leukemia may occur several months to years after a complete remission.

Extramedullary manifestations of relapsed chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) present with a wide range of symptoms and signs yet involvement of temporal bone is a rare presentation of the disease.9,10 We present a patient who was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) who presented with bilateral acute otitis media and mastoiditis with left facial paralysis.
