Abstract EN

The mean uptake of the trace metals, Rb, Ba, Sr, Zr, and Nd during respiration were determined in five locations including rural, desert, urban, suburban development and industrial population centers in Aswan, Egypt.

Median values of trace metal concentration (ng / m3) in these centers show no hazards in view of the proposed model of global air categories.

However attention must be given to the localized high concentration of both of Sr-Ba found in the urban population, and Rb-Nd elements found in the northern rural sector of the city.

The effect of these trace metals may increase chronically with long term exposure to air pollution.
