English Abstract
A Joint Degree program is something new, not equivalent to the delivery of old courses for new purposes.
It means the convergence of curricula in order to create a new entity with its own learning goals and professional relevance.
This article provides a basis for discussion on recognition of joint degrees by highlighting the legal basis and current developments on the European level, as well as the institutional practices that might foster recognition of qualifications obtained from joint degree programs.
The article will touch upon such issues as: European documents-Recommendation on Recognition of Joint Degrees and Code of good Practice in the Provision of Transnational Education; Emerging challenges and practices on recognition of qualifications from joint degree programs; and Institutions‘/consortia‘s role in fostering recognition of their joint program – program description and diploma supplement.
