Abstract AR
Abstract EN
This study was conducted at Agricultural college laboratory/ University of Jordan and Al-Khatib Nursery in Jerash during the period from February 1998 to August 1999 to study wilt and root rot fungi of stone-fruit nursery stocks in Jordan.
In surveys conducted during spring and summer 1998, sev-eral wilt and root rot fungi were collected and identified from six nurseries in six locations in Jordan.
Isolation on PDA, CMA, and selective media for Verticillium, com-bined with microscopic identification indicated the presence of the follow-ing species fo fungi : Fusarium oxysporum Schlecht, Verticillium dahhae Kleb, Fusarium solani (Mart).
Appel ه Woller w, Rhizoctonia solani Kuehn, Phytophthora cinnamomi Rands and Pythium ultimum Trow.
Based on surveys, F.
oxysporum Schlecht was the most widely distrib-uted wilt Fungus, where p.
cinnamomi Rands was the most distributed root rot fungus in these Locations.
Rootstocks varied in their tolerance to these fungi.
Almond and GF 677 rootstocks were mostly resistant stocks to F.
ox-ysporum Schlecht, where apricot rootstocks were the most tolerant, and Ma-haleb rootstocks was the most susceptible one.
Chemical control treatments showed that Benlate was the most efficient fungicide in controling F.
oxysporum Schlecht in the field as well as In ve-tro test.
Followed by Tachigaren, Cryptonol, and Previcur N in descending order.
